BALTIMORE -- First-year UMBC Softball head coach
Angie Nicholson announced the schedule for her inaugural campaign on Wednesday.

The Retrievers open the season in South Carolina at the Wofford Invitational against St. Bonaventure, UNCW and the host Terriers. The home slate opens the following weekend (2/21-2/22) as the Dawgs host the UMBC Round Robin #1 against UMES and Monmouth.
UMBC then makes the short trip to College Park for the Terrapin Invite (2/27-3/1) for five games against Providence, Syracuse, Fairfield and Maryland. The Dawgs then begin a season-high 13 game homestand with midweek matchup against rival Towson (3/3), then hosting Syracuse and Morgan State in the UMBC Round Robin #2 (3/6-3/8), and then four doubleheaders against Lehigh (3/11), Holy Cross (3/14 and 3/15) and Niagara (3/17).
After a doubleheader at Mount St. Mary's (3/18), the Retrievers open conference play at defending America East champion Binghamton (3/21-3/22). A pair of home America East series against Bryant (3/28-3/29) and Maine (4/4-4/5) and a non-conference home game against George Washington (4/8) are on deck, followed by road conference series' at UAlbany (4/11-4/12) and UMass Lowell (4/18-4/19).
After closing non-conference play against Coppin State (4/22), UMBC concludes the season with a home series against Binghamton (4/25-4/26) and a road series at Bryant (5/1-5/2).
All teams qualify for the America East Tournament hosted by Maine May 6-9.
