Volleyball Rallies From 2-0 Deficit to Defeat Visiting UAlbany

BALTIMORE — Freshman Hannah Dobbs had a career-high 22 kills, and Helen Frankovich took over in the final two sets as the UMBC Volleyball team stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat visiting UAlbany in five sets (20-25, 18-25, 25-16, 25-23, 15-10) on Sunday at The Peake.

Frankovich tallied nine kills with no errors and .692 hitting, and added four of her five total blocks, in the final two sets. The sophomore totaled 14 kills on .357 hitting for the match. See how it was explained

Senior Mia Bilusic continued her hot streak as she finished with 18 kills, 10 digs, two blocks and one ace.  

Graduate student Aysia Miller notched 22 digs, four assists, and one ace, alongside redshirt freshman Jada James who picked up 11 digs, two aces, and one assist. 

Junior Serin Maden secured a season-high 33 assists, four digs, and one ace, while freshman Izzy Ostvig finished with 21 assists, one kill, two blocks, and one dig. 

Senior Mila Ilieva had seven kills, four blocks, two assists, and two aces, and graduate student Abby Erickson added five kills on no errors and four blocks.

Hannah Howard had a match-high four aces to go with her 11 digs. 

The Retrievers travel to America East rival Bryant next Sunday at 1 pm.
