Volleyball Takes Down Coppin State in Four Sets

BALTIMORE — Redshirt freshman Jada James had the best night of her young career to lead the UMBC Volleyball team to a four set win (25-20, 25-19, 17-25, 25-14) over visiting Coppin State on Wednesday night at The Peake.

James led the team with 14 kills and a career-high seven blocks, as well as five digs and one ace. 

Freshman Hannah Dobbs had the first double-double of her career with 10 kills, a career-best 11 digs, two blocks, one assist, and one ace. 

Senior Mila Ilieva hit for .500 as she finished with eight kills and six blocks. 

Graduate student Aysia Miller notched 15 digs, seven assists, and four aces. 

Sophomore Helen Frankovich had eight kills and one block, while graduate student Abby Erickson with three kills, six blocks, and one dig. 

The Retrievers will be back this Sunday as they host America East rival New Hampshire at The Peake at 1 p.m.
