Volleyball Takes Down New Hampshire in Five Set Thriller

BALTIMORE — Senior Mia Bilusic had a 16 kill, 12 dig double-double and Aysia Miller tied a career high with 32 digs as the UMBC Volleyball team defeated visiting New Hampshire in a five set thriller (25-16, 25-23, 12-25, 16-25, 15-12) on Sunday at The Peak.

Freshman Hannah Dobbs continued her stellar play as she finished with 16 kills, six digs, and two blocks. The Ohio native has reached double-digit kills in eight of her past nine matches.

Graduate student Abby Erickson had eight blocks, including three solo, to go along with five kills in the win.

Miller's third career 30+ dig performance also included an ace and two assists. 

Junior Serin Maden had a game-high 25 assists, six digs and one ace, while freshman Izzy Ostvig added 18 assists, four blocks, three digs and three kills (.500 hitting).

Sophomore Helen Frankovich tallied 11 kills, four digs and a block for UMBC.

Hannah Howard and Jada James each hit an ace and had six and five digs, respectively. 

The Retrievers complete the non-conference portion of their schedule as they visit MEAC leader Howard on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
