Fairfield, Conn - The visiting UMBC volleyball team hit 321 as a team en route to a road sweep of Sacred Heart on Friday evening. The Retrievers evened their record at 2-2 while the Pioneers fell to 0-4.
Junior outside hitter
Mia Bilusic recorded a match-high 11 kills (.444 hitting percentage) and added a pair of solo blocks. Senior
Aysia Miller contributed a match-high 18 assists and eight digs, while
Serin Maden added 13 assists of her own.
UMBC dominated the middle
Michela De Marzi dominated the middle as she had five kills on six attacks with three blocks, and fellow middle
Mila Ilieva had seven kills on nine attempts.
Graduate student outside hitter
Kamani Conteh contributed eight kills, while freshman libero
Hannah Howard chipped in with seven digs, three assists and two aces.
UMBC will travel to Fairfield for a 2:30 match on Saturday afternoon.
