Trio Of Meginniss, Fofana and Arnold Capture Gold For Men's Track & Field

The Retrievers competed at both the Morgan State Legacy Meet and the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational this weekend.

BALTIMORE - The UMBC men's track and field program was represented well all over Charm City on Friday and Saturday as numerous Retrievers had solid showings at the Morgan State and Johns Hopkins/Loyola complexes.   
 
Morgan State Legacy:
  • Michael Arnold and Nicolas Alphonse went one-two in the 400 hurdles, both setting personal-bests with times of 52.52 and 52.99, respectively.
  • Donovan Young capped the top performers at Morgan State, capturing fourth place in the triple jump at 13.82m.
 
Hopkins/Loyola Invitational:
  • Lamine Fofana joined his teammates across town in winning the 400 hurdles as well, finishing with a personal best of 56.46.
  • Liam Meginniss was the third and final male to snatch first place, securing the gold in the 800m (1:54.07 - PR).
  • Will Sakowicz ran the longest race of the weekend and PR'd en route to fifth for his 9:54.93 3,000m steeplechase.
  • Mulisa Reggasa also placed fifth in the 800m with a mark of 1:57.23.
