BALTIMORE – Senior
Nyah Stahl captured the 200 backstroke as the women's swimming and diving team faced a tough Ohio University squad at the UMBC Aquatic Complex on Friday afternoon.
Stahl got out to an early lead and maintained it through the eight laps, edging her nearest Bobcat opponent by 1.1 seconds with a time of 2:05.64.
Senior
Rola Hussein earned a silver in the 100 backstroke, just missing out by .28 seconds to the victor.
Junior
Elze Bielskute took third place in both the 50 freestyle (25.03) and the 200 breaststroke (2:24.46).
Sophomore
Alicia Buteau recorded a third-place effort on the 1-meter diving board, recording a score of 215.65.
UMBC will compete against local rivals Towson, Johns Hopkins and host Loyola-Maryland at the Greyhounds' Invitational Meet on Oct. 27-29.
