University Park, Pa. - The UMBC men's track and field team produced outstanding results in several disciplines at the Penn State National Open on Jan. 27-28.
In Friday's 5,000 meters, sophomore
Cameron Hindle broke the 15-minute mark at 14:57.53 and finished in eighth place. His time is now the seventh-best in school history and the top mark in eight years.

Jaeden Burke and senior
Shamar Barnes placed first and second in the 200 meters. Their times of 22.06 and 22.10 are the third and fourth-fastest (tied with sophomore
Marquis Miller) in America East in 2023 Â Â
Sophomore
Ibrahim Khairat finished sixth in triple jump with a leap of 14.55m, the fourth-best distance in America East this season. He also placed tenth in the long jump (6.63).
Miller placed second in the 400 meters, running a personal best time of 49.11, the third-fastest time in America East in 2023 and the seventh-fastest in UMBC school history.
The 4 x 400 relay squad finished tenth and posted a mark of 3:17.74. The quartet of Burke, Michael Arnold, Miller and
Nicolas Alphonse recorded the second-fastest time in the conference this season, just .2 seconds behind an NJIT foursome.
