Brian Barrio Named to Division I-AAA Executive Committee

The Retriever AD will represent the America East Conference in 2022-23

Westlake, Ohio – The NCAA Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association has tabbed UMBC Director of Athletics Brian Barrio to its 2022-23 Executive Committee. Barrio will represent the America East Conference on the 13-person committee.

"The big task this year is going to be continuing to work as a conduit between the I-AAA AD's and the NCAA Transformation Committee to try and ensure that I-AAA's unique perspective is not lost during the process of affecting significant change to the NCAA structure," said Barrio.

Radford Athletics Director Robert Lineburg will serve as DI-AAA ADA president for the membership year.

Barrio, who will enter his third full academic year at the helm of the Retrievers' program this fall, was named to the NCAA Division I Council in March and will serve a four-year term.
