BALTIMORE – UMBC freshman attacker
Kolby Weedon (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) netted a season high five goals, but visiting Towson broke open a tight game with a 5-0 second quarter run and prevailed, 19-12, in chilly conditions at Retriever Soccer Park.

Claire Bockstie (Forest Hill, Md./Maryvale Prep) added four second half goals for the Retrievers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Weedon got the Retrievers on the board just 53 seconds into the game and senior Megan Cleverly (Middletown, Md.) gave UMBC its final lead at 2-1 at the 3:02 mark.
- Towson scored four consecutive goals in a span of 3:20 to take a 5-2 lead at the 7:36 mark of the first quarter.
- Weedon answered 11 seconds later, starting a 3-0 UMBC run, which she finished at the 2:31 mark, knotting the game at 5-all.
- But TU finished the high-scoring first quarter with a pair of goals, leading 7-5 after 15 minutes.
- Weedon tallied her fourth goal of the game just 13 seconds into the second stanza, but Towson reeled off five goals to take command of the game.
- The Tigers led, 13-7, at halftime and extended the lead to 15-7 before Weedon tallied her fifth and Bockstie got on the board with back-to-back scores late in the third quarter and early in the fourth.
- Bockstie scored a pair of fourth quarter goals as UMBC crawled back to a five-goal deficit (17-12), but TU tacked on two goals in the final 27 seconds.
Cleverly scored two goals for UMBC and sophomore attacker
Dymin Gerow (Baltimore, Md.) recorded two assists.
UMBC sophomore goalkeeper
Isabella Fontana (Chevy Chase, Md.) entered the game in the third quarter and made seven saves, while allowing seven scores.
Bockstie has scored 19 goals in the last four games and has hit the nets in all 24 games in three seasons for the Retrievers.
