BALTIMORE– UMBC men's basketball takes a four-game win streak in a Saturday matchup against New Hampshire at The Peake. The Retrievers are coming off a 59-53 comeback victory in Albany on Wednesday that saw the Retrievers erase a six point halftime deficit.

Scouting the Retrievers:
- UMBC is riding a four-game win streak after a come from behind 59-53 victory at UAlbany on Wednesday night. The Retrievers trailed by as many as 11 in the game, but got a big and one from L.J. Owens (Annapolis, Md./Severn School/William & Mary) to take the lead in the second half, and never trail again.
- Keondre Kennedy (Atlanta, Ga.) leads the Retriever offense averaging 14.6 ppg with 5.2 rpg, shooting 48 percent from the floor. Over his last five games, Kennedy is averaging 18.8 ppg and 6.6 rpg.
- Darnell Rogers (Baltimore, Md./Indian Land (SC)/New Mexico JC) and Owens are also in double figures at 10.5 and 10.2 ppg respectively. Rogers is dishing out 3.3 apg, fourth best in the America East.
- Yaw Obeng-Mensah (Toronto, Ontario) is pulling down a team-best 5.4 rpg.
Scouting the Wildcats:
- New Hampshire is sitting at 9-8, 4-4 AE on the year after picking up a 70-64 win against Hartford on Wednesday. UNH got out to an 18 point lead at halftime and had to fend off a furious Hawks comeback.
- Jayden Martinez leads a trio of Wildcats in double figures, averaging 14.8 ppg. He is shooting just under 50 percent from the floor and is averaging a team-best 6.2 rpg.
- Nick Guadarrama and Blondeau Tchoukuiegno are also in double figures at 13.6 and 11.4 ppg respectively. Tchoukuiengo is second in the league in assists per game at 3.9.
All-Time Series:
- This will be the 40th all-time meeting between the two and the first time meeting in Baltimore since 2020. New Hampshire holds a slim 20-19 advantage in the all-time series.
- UMBC has won the last four meetings, including a pair in Durham last year. The last time the two played in Baltimore, UMBC picked up a 73-67 win in the America East Quarterfinals in 2020.
2001-02 Team Honored:
- The 2001-02 Retrievers will be honored on Saturday at halftime on the 20 year anniversary of the first 20-win team in program history. Several players and coaches from the team will be in attendance.
- The game also serves as alumni day for men's basketball, with former players from all years coming back to the game.
Among the Best:
- UMBC sits 26th nationally in team free throw percentage at 76.9, going 263-342 from the charity stripe this season.
- The mark is good for first in the conference.
Milestone Watch:
- L.J. Owens is approaching the 1,000 point mark, needing just 99 points to achieve the mark.
- As a team, the Retrievers are on pace to have their best season from the foul line in program history. UMBC is currently at 76.9 percent from the charity stripe. The previous best was 75.5 percent in 1986-87.
