Scouting the Retrievers:
- UMBC comes into the contest on the second leg of a three game in five day swing after seeing their six game win streak end in an 88-71 loss at UMass Lowell on Saturday. UMBC had a lead at halftime, but ran into a hot shooting River Hawk side in the second half.
- Keondre Kennedy led the way with 19 points and leads the team with 14.7 ppg shooting 49.8 percent from the floor and grabbing 5.0 rpg.
- L.J. Owens (Annapolis, Md./Severn School/William & Mary) and Darnell Rogers (Baltimore, Md./Indian Land (SC)/New Mexico JC) are also in double figures, both averaging 10.6 ppg. Rogers is dishing out 3.7 apg, having at least five assists in the last four games.
- Yaw Obeng-Mensah (Toronto, Ontario) leads the team on the glass grabbing 5.6 rpg.
Scouting the Wildcats:
- New Hampshire comes into the Valentine's Day contest at 11-10, 6-6 AE after picking up a 69-60 win at Binghamton on Saturday. The Wildcats used 13 offensive rebounds for 14 second chance points in the win. UNH is a stellar 8-2 at home this year.
- Jayden Martinez leads a trio of Wildcats in double figures at 14.9 ppg. He is also the team leader in rebounds pulling down 6.2 per game and is shooting 41.6 percent from three.
- Nick Guadarrama and Blondeau Tchoukuiegno are also in double figures at 12.8 and 11.6 ppg respectively. Tchoukuiegno is dishing out a team best 4.0 apg.
All-Time Series:
- This will be the 41st all-time meeting between the two and the second meeting in nine days after UMBC came away with an 88-77 win in Baltimore on February 5. The all-time series is tied 20-20.
