Volleyball Drops Five Setter at Bryant

Smithfield, R.I. -- Weronika Wrzesinska (Frednowy, Poland) had a career-high 14 kills on .444 hitting, but the visiting UMBC Volleyball team fell in five sets (25-20, 22-25, 25-13, 19-25, 15-9) to host Bryant (19-10, 6-3 AE) on Friday night.

UMBC (14-8, 6-3 AE) was paced on offense by Mia Bilusic (Zagreb, Croatia) who finished with 18 kills and six digs. Wrzesinska had eight digs as well, while Aysia Miller (Mililani, Hawaii) had 16 digs and Michela De Marzi (Milan, Italy) had a match-best eight blocks.

Serin Maden (Ankara, Turkey) had 23 assists as she split time with classmate Bird Alford (Tallahassee, Fla.) eho finished with 17 assists of her own.

The Retrievers conclude the regular season at UAlbany on Sunday. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
