UMBC Men's Cross Country Heads to Penn State National Open on Friday

Baltimore-- UMBC Men's Cross Country heads to University Park, PA this week for the Penn State National Invite as their last competition before hosting the America East Cross Country Championships later this month. The men are set to race a 5.2 mile race tomorrow morning at 11:30. Live results for the event can be found here.
  • At Paul Short two weeks ago, Junior Jafar Hussen and Sophomore Cameron Hindle led the retrievers to a 13th place finish out of 45 teams in the Brown race. Hussen and Hindle ran 24:23.6 and 23:32.0 respectively. Both runners will look to improve upon their times further before entering competition season.
  • Other Retrievers to look out for are Zachary Taylor and Baraka Sila, who ran 25:42.4 and 25:41.1 at Paul Short. Sophomores Mack McKeever and Joel Simpson, as well as Freshman Xander Barton, also improved upon their times at Paul Short and will be looking to continue improving their times this Friday. 
After competing this Friday, the Retrievers will prepare to host the America East Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 29th at Jerusalem Mill, MD.
