BALTIMORE– UMBC men's basketball will hit the road to close out a busy week at Maine on Saturday afternoon. The Retrievers are coming off a 66-54 loss to UAlbany on Wednesday night in Baltimore. UMBC went back and forth with the Great Danes for most of the game, but UAlbany ended the game on an 11-0 run to hold off UMBC.

Scouting the Retrievers:
- UMBC is coming off a tough 66-54 loss against UAlbany on Wednesday night in Baltimore. UMBC went back and forth with the Great Danes for most of the game, but UAlbany ended the game on an 11-0 run to hold off UMBC.
- Keondre Kennedy (Atlanta, Ga.) led the Retrievers on Wednesday with 14 points, and he leads the team in scoring at 13.2 ppg. Kennedy is also second on the team averaging 4.8 rpg.
- Darnell Rogers (Baltimore, Md./Indian Land (SC)/New Mexico JC) is the only other Retriever in double figures at 10.7 ppg, dishing out 3.1 apg.
- Yaw Obeng-Mensah (Toronto, Ontario) leads the team on the glass averaging 5.2 rpg.
Scouting the Black Bears:
- Maine comes into the contest at 3-12, 0-4 AE having lost their last six games. Most recently, the Black Bears dropped a 71-62 decision to UMass Lowell on Wednesday.
- LeChaun DuHart leads the Black Bears in scoring at 8.8 ppg with Vukasin Masic just behind him at 8.1 ppg. Five different Black Bears are averaging 6.0 ppg or better.
- Stephane Ingo leads the team on the boards grabbing 6.5 rpg.
All-Time Series:
- The Black Bears and Retrievers have met 36 times prior to the Saturday matchup with the Retrievers leading the series 22-14. Saturday will be the first time the two have met since 2020.
- UMBC has had a stranglehold on the series in recent years, winning 11 of the last 12 dating back to 2015 and 13 of 15 since 2013. The last time the two met, both teams won on their home court.
