BALTIMORE– UMBC men's basketball continues their three game in five day stretch at Stony Brook on Monday afternoon. The Retrievers are coming off an 86-69 loss to Vermont on Saturday afternoon.
Szymon Wojcik (Wroclaw, Poland) had a career-high 22 points on 8-10 shooting in the loss.

Scouting the Retrievers:
- UMBC is coming off an 86-69 loss against Vermont on Saturday afternoon in Baltimore. Vermont raced out to a 30-7 lead in the first seven minutes and never looked back. Szymon Wojcik netted a career-high 22 points in the loss.
- Keondre Kennedy (Atlanta, Ga.) leads the Retrievers averaging 13.8 ppg, shooting 47 percent from the floor. Darnell Rogers (Baltimore, Md./Indian Land (SC)/New Mexico JC) and L.J. Owens (Annapolis, Md./Severn School/William & Mary) are also in double figures at 11.4 and 10.3 ppg. Owens is shooting 49.2 percent from three this year.
- Yaw Obeng-Mensah (Toronto, Ontario) leads the team on the glass averaging 5.4 rpg.
Scouting the Seawolves:
- Stony Brook comes into the contest having not played since Wednesday after their game against New Hampshire was postponed on Saturday. The Seawolves fell to Vermont, 98-65 in that game up in Burlington.
- Three Seawolves are averaging double digits, led by Anthony Roberts with 14.3 ppg. Transfer Jahlil Jenkins and Tykei Greene are also in double figures at 13.6 and 11.5 ppg respectively. Greene also leads the team with 7.3 rpg.
All-Time Series:
- This will be the 40th all-time meeting between the two schools with the Seawolves leading the series 25-14. Last year, the Retrievers won both games up on Long Island.
- UMBC has won three straight in the series and six of the last nine dating back to 2017.
Milestone Watch:
- Several Retrievers are approaching career milestones in 2021-22. L.J. Owens is approaching the 1,000 point mark, needing just 158 points to achieve the mark. He is also just 3 games away from 100 career games played.
- Darnell Rogers needs 40 points to reach 500 career points.
- Newcomer Ray Salnave needs just 155 points to reach 1,500 career points after scoring 1,266 during his time at Monmouth and DePaul.
