DAWG BITES
In the America East opener back on March 7, the UMBC women's soccer team fell, 4-1, to the defending conference champion Stony Brook Seawolves.
The Seawolves struck first with a goal in the 14th minute off a rebounded save, but Erin Stevenson took a cross from Meghan McKye and launched it into the net to tie the game up in the 16th minute.
Stony Brook took a 2-1 lead in the 22nd minute on a penalty kick and added the final goal of the game in the 35th minute to take the 3-1 lead.
Both teams were quiet in the second half, with UMBC's best look coming in the 71st minute when Christina Corbi sent a shot on the net and had it bounce just off the crossbar.
Goalkeeper Jade Wilkins made six saves on the day, four of which came in the first half of play. The senior now has 11 on the season, a 78.6 saves percentage, and a 1.35 goals-against average.
