Keondre Kennedy (Atlanta, Ga.) set a new career-high of 21 points in the win. Eight different Retrievers hit a three in the contest. UMBC is averaging 91.3 ppg in their three wins and just 57.5 ppg in their two losses.

Scouting the Retrievers:
- UMBC comes into the Saturday matchup winners in three of their last four, most recently dispatching American 98-67 on Tuesday. The Retrievers shot an NCAA season best single-game record 69.9 percent from three. The previous record was set by Santa Clara at 68.8 percent.
- The Retrievers are currently second in the NCAA in free throw percentage at 85.5 percent.
- Kennedy leads the team in scoring at 14.6 ppg after netting a career-high 21 points last time out. The senior is shooting 56 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three.
- Darnell Rogers (Baltimore, Md.) is also in double figures at 13.0 ppg.
Scouting the Panthers:
- Pitt comes into the contest after a 68-52 loss to Vanderbilt on Wednesday night. The Panthers were down by one at the half, but got outscored 44-29 in the second half, going 2-15 from three.
- John Hugley leads the way for the Panthers averaging 13.0 ppg, shooting 43.4 percent from the floor. Hugley also leads the team on the glass with 7.2 rpg.
- Femi Odukale is the only other Panther averaging double figures at 12.0 ppg. He sets the table on the offensive end, averaging 3.4 apg.
All-Time Series:
- This will be the third meeting all-time between the two schools with the Panthers holding a 2-0 lead in the series.
- The two have not met since the 2008-09 season where Pitt took a 91-56 victory.
- The Retrievers are 1-19 all-time against current ACC opponents with the lone win coming against Virginia in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
Milestone Watch:
- Several Retrievers are approaching career milestones in 2021-22. L.J. Owens is approaching the 1,000 point mark, needing just 265 points to achieve the mark. He is also just 12 games away from 100 career games played.
- Darnell Rogers needs 123 points to reach 500 career points.
- Newcomer Ray Salnave needs just 193 points to reach 1,500 career points after scoring 1,266 during his time at Monmouth and DePaul.
