BALTIMORE-- UMBC men's basketball will return from over a week hiatus to take on George Washington and Delaware on Monday and Tuesday at the UMBC Event Center. The Retrievers add the game against the Colonials after having their game against Towson postponed due to COVID-19 concerns within the Towson program. Last time out, senior Brandon Horvath (West River, Md./Southern) led the Retrievers with 18 points and 12 rebounds in an 80-65 win at Saint Francis.

Scouting the Retrievers:
-UMBC comes back to the UMBC Event Center at 1-1 on the year after an 80-65 win at Saint Francis last Saturday. The Retrievers trailed at the half but used an early second-half run to take the lead for good. Brandon Horvath led the charge once again with his second straight double-double (18 pts, 12 reb).
-Horvath leads the Retrievers averaging 15.5 ppg and 11.0 rpg shooting 56.5 percent from the floor. Darnell Rogers (Baltimore, Md./Indian Land (SC)/New Mexico JC) is the only other Retriever in double figures at 14.0 ppg shooting 40 percent from three with five steals in two games.
-UMBC is scoring at a 71.0 ppg clip, shooting 41.7 percent from the floor as a team. The Retrievers are forcing 18.0 turnovers per game and are shooting 75.6 percent from the charity stripe after shooting 65 percent last year.
Scouting the Colonials:
-George Washington comes into the contest at 1-2 after picking up their first win of the season, 85-69 against Coppin State on Saturday afternoon. GW had four hit double figures led by James Bishop with 20 points. Matthew Moyer and Chase Paar recorded double-doubles with 19/11 and 15/16 respectively.
-Bishop is averaging 20.7 ppg shooting a blistering 51.1 percent from the floor with an 8.3 apg clip. Moyer, Jamison Battle and Jameer Nelson, Jr. are also averaging double figures at 19.0, 15.0, and 13.7 ppg respectively. Moyer leads the team pulling down 11.0 rpg. The Colonials are shooting 48.3 percent from the floor and are +4 on the boards.
Scouting the Blue Hens:
-Delaware comes to Baltimore at 1-0 after winning their season opener against DII Salem University on Saturday, 79-76 in Newark. The Blue Hens led by 13 at halftime but had to fend off a rally late for the win. Salem tied it late, but Delaware answered with a pair of three's. Salem had a chance to tie at the buzzer but the shot was off.
-Four Blue Hens hit double figures led by Kevin Anderson and Ebby Asamoah with 21 and 20 each. Anderson recorded 10 rebounds for a double-double. Ryan Allen and Aleks Novakovich chipped in 12 and 10 respectively.
All-Time Series:
-GW and UMBC will be meeting for the 10th time all-time with the Colonials leading the series 6-3. This will be the first meeting since the 2014-15 season where George Washington won 83-60 in D.C. UMBC's last win came in 2007 with an 89-79 win in Baltimore.
-The Blue Hens and Retrievers will meet for the first time since 2005-06 with Delaware leading the series 7-3. UMBC, however, has won the last two contests, including an 85-84 win in Baltimore in 2005. Two of the three Retriever wins have come at home.
