Armstrong Jr. Invited to Participate in 2026 AWS NBA G League Combine

UMBC graduate student guard DJ Armstrong Jr. has been selected as one of 44 prospects for the 2026 AWS NBA G League Combine, taking place May 8–10 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

The three-day event allows NBA Draft prospects to showcase their talent to NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches, and front-office executives. Participants play in five-on-five games and complete strength and agility drills.

Armstrong Jr. earned Second Team America East honors and joined the AE All-Academic Team in 2025-26. He claimed the America East Tournament MVP award after scoring 33 points (including a title game record seven treys) in the championship game against Vermont. He finished 8th in the America East in scoring (13.3 ppg.), slotted first in threes per game (2.7), and led the league in three-point field goal percentage (.419). The Orlando, Florida native swished at least two treys in 24 of 33 contests this season.

A select number of players from the draft-eligible group may earn invitations to the AWS NBA Draft Combine 2026 later in the week, depending on how they perform at the AWS NBA G League Combine.

Notable NBA players who previously participated in the NBA G League Combine include Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard, New York Knicks guard Jose Alvarado, Dallas Mavericks forward Caleb Martin, Brooklyn Nets guard Terance Mann, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Max Strus, and three-time AT&T Slam Dunk champion and two-time Kia NBA G League MVP Mac McClung.
