Freeman Flawless on Offense, but Volleyball Can't Overcome First Place UAlbany

Albany, N.Y.. -- Carmen Freeman (Memphis, Tenn.) did not commit an attack error en route to match-high 14 kills on .483 hitting, but first place UAlbany (11-9, 6-0) swept the visiting UMBC Volleyball team (25-21, 28-26, 25-15) on Friday night. 

The Retrievers hit .292 overall as setter Taylor Dunn (Virginia Beach, Va.) had 29 assists and  senior Franchesca Reed (Aurora, Colo.) had no errors and hit .417 with five kills and two blocks. 

Freshman Niki Khoshatefeh (Temecula, Calif.) had seven kills and two solo blocks for UMBC (4-15, 1-5 AE). Classmates Kamani Conteh (New Castle, Del.) and Emily Ferketic (Pittsburgh, Pa.) chipped in on offense with five kills and three kills respectively. 

UMBC hits the road again when it travels to New Hampshire next Friday at 7 p.m.
