Boston, Mass.—UMBC baseball junior AJ Wright (Cherry Hill, N.J.) has been named America East Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. Wright helped the Retrievers to a 3-2 week, taking two of three from Stony Brook this past weekend.

Wright batted .500 this past week, going 6-12 in a three game series with Stony Brook. During the series, Wright ripped three doubles and drove in five runs. The New Jersey native leads the team with 34 hits, 16 doubles and 23 RBI having played in all but one game this year.

UMBC will take on Towson on Wednesday night after having their game scheduled for today against Navy cancelled due to rain. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Alumni Field.
