UMBC Game Notes
BALTIMORE – UMBC women's basketball looks to continue its recent momentum as the Retrievers put their two-game win streak on the line on Tuesday morning as they take on local-rival Towson. Game time is set for 11 a.m. at SECU Arena.
Scouting the Retrievers (2-2):
-UMBC is coming off a 2-0 week in which it earned its first victory at Coppin State since 1987, defeating the Eagles, 68-61, in double-overtime. The Retrievers followed by eliminating a 14-point second half deficit against Rider on Saturday, picking up a 58-53 win versus the Broncs.
-Junior forward Pandora Wilson picked up her first collegiate double-double against the Eagles and averaged 18.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in UMBC's two victories. Wilson leads the squad at 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game on the season. The junior is shooting a team-best 48.9 percent from the floor and 78.6 percent from the free throw line.
-Fellow juniors Taylor McCarley and Chukwuma Chiamaka are chipping in 11 and nine points, respectively. McCarley, who registered 14 points versus the Broncs on Saturday, moved into eighth all-time at UMBC in career free throws made (253) and 10th in free throw attempts (373). Chiamaka is pulling down 6.5 rebounds per contest, including 4.0 offensive rebounds per game.
-UMBC, who ranked second in the America East in turnover margin last season, is forcing 20.0 turnovers per game, including a combined 55 forced turnovers in the past two games. In their two wins, UMBC registered 47 points off of turnovers.
Scouting the Tigers (0-3):
-Towson has seen similar opponents to the Retrievers, facing both Coppin State and Rider in their first three contests. The Tigers have dropped all three contests to start the season, including an 81-69 loss to Coppin State on Sunday. Senior guard Dominique Johnson paced the Tigers with 18 points and eight rebounds versus the Eagles.
-Towson has three players averaging in double-digits, led by junior guard Raven Bankston's 20.0 points per game. Bankston is shooting 51.4 percent from the field, including 42.9 percent from long range. Johnson is chipping in 16.7 points and 4.7 rebounds, while freshman guard Sianni Martin is adding 16.0 points.

-UMBC hosts three straight to start the month of December, beginning with a 7 p.m. matchup on Dec. 2 against American.
Inside the Series
-Towson has won four straight to lead the all-time series, 35-14.
-UMBC's last win at Towson came on Nov. 24, 2009, a 74-72 victory.
