BALTIMORE -- UMBC Women's Basketball announced the hiring of Tolu Omokore as the Retrievers new Director of Basketball Operations on Thursday.

Omokore comes to Hilltop Circle after spending the previous two seasons at nearby Coppin State where she was the Director of Operations and Player Development in September 2023.

"I'm incredibly thankful for the opportunity to join the UMBC Women's Basketball program," said Omokore. "The transition has been so smooth, and I truly appreciate how warmly I've been welcomed by Coach Candice and the entire staff. I'm excited to contribute to the team's success and work alongside such a passionate and dedicated group."

Born in Nigeria, Tolu was raised in Maryland and led Eleanor Roosevelt High School to a pair of State Championships before receiving a scholarship to attend the University of Central Florida.
