BALTIMORE -- UMBC Women's Basketball head coach
Candice Hill has announced the addition of two more transfers to the program. Dagny Slomack and Delaney Yarborough will join the Retrievers for the 2025-2026 season.
Slomack is a 5'6" point guard from South Orange, N.J. who spent her freshman season at Central Connecticut State where she averaged 9.0 points per game. She started 25 of the 29 games she played in and shot 37.4% from three.
"We are thrilled to welcome Dagny and the Slomack family to our program" said Coach Hill. "Dagny is a dynamic and electric offensive player with a strong focus on shooting, especially from beyond the arc. Her ability to create shots for herself and others, will make an immediate impact on our program. Averaging almost 30 mins a game last season as a freshman, we are excited for the experience, leadership and versatility she will bring on and off the court. Retriever nation is going to enjoy watching Dagny play."
Yarborough is a local product as she is 6'3" center from Ellicott City, and spent last season playing for CAA regular season champion North Carolina A&T. She spent her first two seasons at CAA power Stony Brook.
"We are so excited to welcome Delaney and the Yarborough family to our program. At 6'3, she will provide great height and a huge presence in the front court," said Coach Hill. "She's one of Maryland's own who is a winner on and off the court and will fit well with the standards and values of our program and the UMBC way. I am so happy she gets to spend her last year with us here in Baltimore as a part of our UMBC family. Retriever nation welcome Delaney Yarborough."
