The UMBC men's tennis team dropped its spring opener, 6-1,
at Old Dominion Sunday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor
Tennis Center.
Freshman Alex Drean provided
a victory in his spring debut for the Retrievers, taking
a 7-5, 6-7, 1-0 decision at No. 4
singles.
Sophomores Kamal Patel and Daniel Gray
nearly pulled off an upset at No. 3 doubles, falling 8-7 to No. 34
Wesley Barrett/Tim Schweig.
Senior Gauthier Berret also dropped a tough match at No. 3
singles, losing a narrow 6-7, 6-2, 10-5 decision to Jonas
Kuwert.
In its next match, UMBC competes at Northern Colorado on
Sat., Feb. 9.
