Baltimore, Md -- After dropping the doubles point, the UMBC Men's Tennis team swept Bryant in singles to earn a 4-1 victory over the Bulldogs on Sunday.
Justin Carter and Alex Drean took their doubles match 6-2, but Bryant's number's one and three teams took their matched 6-4 and 6-1, respectively. Melker Svard dispatched Oliver Welsh, 6-1, 6-2 at number two singles, before Eliott Loubatie took his match from Art Jakubowski, 6-3, 6-4 at number four to put UMBC up 2-1. Carter knocked off Max Vogt, 6-1, 6-4 in the number one spot and Drean clinched the match with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 victory at number three over Luke Lorenz.
Vijay Golla was leading Rich Sipala 7-6, 5-3 at number six, and Biyik Akinshemoyin was trailing his number five match against Jorge Ortiz, 6-7, 2-3 when the Retrievers clinched the match.
