ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Senior Sara
Parkinson (Lancashire, England/Loughborough
University) finished fourth overall as the UMBC women's cross
country team finished seventh at the Salty Dog Invitational, while
the men placed fifth in the Navy Invitational Saturday.
Parkinson, who won the season-opening Mount St. Mary's Dual
5K's, finished in a time of 22:36.3. Junior Keri
Wilson(Columbia, Md./Long Reach) placed 44th overall,
while sophomore Laura
Blevins (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake),
freshman Cody
Mezebish (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) and
senior Cortney Crouse (Union
Bridge, Md./Linganore) rounded out the scoring five.
On the men's side, freshman Brandan
McGee (Hiram,Ohio/Crestwood) led the Retrievers
across the line, placing 17th overall in a time of 25:16.85.
Junior Sam Boimov (Montgomery
Village, Md./Gaithersburg) was 30th in 25:33.35, while
freshman Nicolas
Escobar (Derwood, Md./Magruder),
senior Chris Bowie (Bethesda,
Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) and sophomore TJ
Cowing (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) rounded
out the scoring five.
The Retrievers return to action Oct. 1 for the Paul Short
Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.
