UMBC UPSETS NEW HAMPSHIRE WOMEN'S SOCCER, 1-0

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to UMBC Sunday afternoon at Bremner Field. The Wildcats now stand at 6-8-3 overall and 4-2-1 in America East Conference play, while the Retrievers, who have gone 6-1-1 in their last eight games, move to 6-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the league.

After a scoreless first half, UMBC netted the game's only goal with just under 14 minutes to play. Kristin English sent a corner kick from the left corner in front of the near post. Christina Sikorski then got a head on it and slid the ball past UNH keeper Liz MacKay for the tally.

MacKay did not make a save in the contest, but UNH was awarded a team save after Erin Margentino swept a ball off the goal line with just over 15 minutes to play. UMBC's Robin Babaris made five stops en route to the win.
