Marie Abongwa is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after she was the runner-up in the shot put (12.90 meters) and finished fourth in the weight throw (16.14 meters) in the season-opening St. John's University Youree Spence-Garcia Invitational in Staten Island, N.Y. last Saturday
