Jayson Tingue is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after he was named the America East Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon

Tingue tied his career high with 15 saves in the Retrievers' 13-6 win against NJIT on Saturday afternoon. The Bay Shore, N.Y., also collected a career-best six ground balls against the Highlanders. It's Tingue's second honor of the season and third career accolade. He earned the initial honor in March 2023. 

Tingue has amassed 269 career saves in the cage and is seventh among all active DI netminders in goals against average.
