Daniel Nicusan is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after the America East Conference named the UMBC senior as the Male Swimmer of the Week for competition ending Nov. 19, 2023.

The Romanian native won both individual medley events (100, 400) and sprinted home with a win in the 50 breaststroke as UMBC defeated Manhattan and St. Peter's on Nov. 18. His time of 51.21 in the 100 IM is the top time in America East this season and a CSCAA "A" cut time.
