Senior Dani Nicusan is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after he became the fourth consecutive UMBC men's swimmer to earn America East Conference Swimmer of the Meet honors, as he wrapped up another brilliant championship meet.

For the fourth consecutive year, the native of Romania captured the 200 yard breaststroke. He set a school, conference, meet and pool record in the process, touching the wall in 1:55.58.

Nicusan also brought home to Baltimore the league's David Alexander Award, honoring the senior with the most points scored in four years of competition. He became the seventh consecutive UMBC men's swimmer to earn that award.

He earned nine individual golds in four meets, including his three (100 and 200 breaststroke, 200 IM) in 2024.
