Karin Torchia

 Karin Torchia was named Senior Associate AD, Deputy Title IX Coordinator in August of 2026.

Torchia, an experienced Division I administrator, comes to Hilltop Circle after serving as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics, External Operations & Development/Senior Woman Administrator at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J. since 2005. Torchia has been at Rider since 2000, first serving as the Associate Director of Athletics, External Operations & Development. She also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Masters in Athletic Leadership program at the University. A two-time graduate of West Virginia University, Torchia started her career in athletics working in the Atlantic 10 Conference Office before moving over to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference from 1995-2000.

Tucker for the opportunity to serve as Senior Associate Director of Athletics/Deputy Title IX Coordinator," said Torchia. "From the beginning of the interview process, it was clear that UMBC is a place with a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and the holistic development of student-athletes. I look forward to partnering with Tiffany, the leadership team, coaches, staff, alumni, and the campus community to build on the department's momentum. I'm also excited about helping to provide an outstanding experience for our student-athletes while advancing Tiffany's mission and vision of Retriever Athletics."
