Biography

2013: Played in a career-high 24 matches and 65 sets as a senior for UMBC… Stepped into the setter role for the team’s America East opener against Stony Brook on Sept. 27 and dished out a career-high 36 assists in a four-set win… Also scooped up 17 digs to complete the double-double… Followed it up by handing out 29 assists and picking up 11 digs on the following Sunday as UMBC swept conference newcomer UMass Lowell in three sets… Finished the season with 107 assists to bring her career total up to 308… One of six Retrievers to record double-digit service aces on the year with 12… Named to the America East Honor Roll.

2012: Played in four matches for the Retrievers as a junior… Recorded three assists against James Madison during the Maddie Bingaman Memorial Tournament… Also played against Coastal Carolina and Marshall at the Pirate Invitational in Greenville, N.C., registering an assist in each contest… Recognized on the America East Honor Roll.

2011: Played in 17 matches, starting seven for the Retrievers...  Set a season career-high with 63 digs while seeing action in 42 sets... Set a career-high with 16 digs in UMBC's win at UC Riverside on Aug. 29... Recorded a season-high 10 assists against America East rival Stony Brook on Sept. 23... Named to the America East Honor Roll.

2010: Played in 14 matches, including nine starts… Ranked second on the squad with 173 assists, while also earning 48 digs, 28 kills and six service aces… Earned a double-double with season highs of 35 assists and 10 digs against Sacred Heart on Sept. 11… Notched four blocks against Brown and Sacred Heart… Served two aces against George Washington and Georgetown.

Background: Led her club team, Rancho Valley Volleyball Club, to the finals of the 2010 Junior National Championships Open Division… Named All-Inland Valley Player of the Year in 2009 after leading the league in hitting percentage and kill percentage... Led her high school, Rancho Cucamonga, to the 2009 league title… Named Most Valuable Player of the Baseline League in 2009 and was a First-Team All-Baseline League selection in 2008… Named Baseline League Outstanding Scholar-Athlete… Made high honor roll seven semesters during high school.

Personal: Daughter of Ed and Nancy Garrigues… Has an older sister, Samantha… Majoring in psychology while earning a minor in sociology… Born June 26, 1992.
