Biography

2003: Quickly proved to be team’s top setter after splitting time her freshman year…the only player to play in all 33 matches and 123 games…recorded 1,341 assists on the season, averaging 10.90 per game, ranking fourth in the conference…recorded 20 performances with double-figure digs including a season-high 20 digs against Jacksonville…recorded 351 digs on the year and 51 blocks…recorded four solo blocks in the win over Providence…named America East Conference Baden Setter of the Week Sept. 21, after dishing out 144 assists in three games at the Villanova Invitational…earned her second Setter of the Week award for the week ending Oct. 12 after in 12 games (three matches) handing out 149 assists, a 12.42 assist per game average, scoring 12 kills and recording 35 digs and six total blocks…that week she joined teammate Jocelyn Teoh as conference honorees with UMBC taking two of the three accolades…named to the all-tournament team at the Retriever Invitational as UMBC went won two-of-three…recorded two 60-plus assist performances and 10 50-plus assist single-game performances on the year.

 

2002: Shared the setting duties with Heather Hollidge and averaged 6.55 assists per game...also contributed 1.06 kills and 2.14 digs per game...distributed a season-high 67 assists at Central Connecticut State on Oct. 26...recorded a season-high 10 kills in her first career match against Binghamton on Aug. 30...Also added 57 assists and 14 digs against Robert Morris (11/2) and St. Francis (Pa.) (11/3)...Recorded a season-high three service aces against UNC Asheville (9/6), Coppin State (9/14) and UMES (9/14).

High School: A 2001 and 2002 all-area selection by the Potomac News and Manassas Journal...Was selected as the 2002 Cardinal District Player of the Year...Earned all-district, all-region and all-state honors last season... named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2001 and 2002...while a sophomore in Ft. Knox, Ky., she led Ft. Knox HS to their first ever district and regional titles, earning MVP honors.

Personal: Daughter of Larry and Pauline Gross...born on May 15, 1984...plans to major in Physical Therapy...is the oldest of four children including her sister Marisa, who is among the Retrievers’ incoming recruiting class.
