Biography

As a Senior (2024):
  • America East Player of the Week on 5/6
  • Started in all 55 games for the Retrievers
  • Had a career high six RBIs against Yale on 3/17
  • Had three hits aganst Delaware State on 5/8
  • Scored five runs, hit a double, and picked up an RBI in the America East Tournament
  • Hit .277 in 184 at-bats with 50 runs, 51 hits, nine doubles, two triples, two home runs, and 34 RBIs.
  • Recorded a .949 fielding percentage with 156 assists

As a Junior (2023):
  • Started in all 56 games for the Retrievers
  • Hit a home run at Bryant on 4/14
  • Recorded three hits against UMass Lowell on 4/21
  • Picked up a hit against Binghamton in the America East Tournament on 5/26
  • Hit .228 in 167 at-bats with 27 runs, 38 hits, five doubles, one home run, and 19 RBIs.
  • Recorded a .935 fielding percentage with 135 assists

Background:
  • An NJCAA All Region I Second Team shortstop in 2022
  • Earned a conference Gold Glove award in his sophomore season at Mesa CC, where he posted a .425 on-base percentage
  • His 2020 Mesa squad was ranked second nationally in the COVID-shortened season
  • Attended Skyline High School in Sammamish, Wash. and was the King County MVP in his senior campaign.
  • Set a school record with a .539 batting average as a senior in 2019
  • Named to 2019 Seattle Times All-City Team and Washington All-State (Coaches Association) Team
  • The Spartans were the top-ranked 4A squad in the state and captured a league title
  • Also lettered in basketball at Skyline
  • Member of “Athletes for Kids’ organization from 2017-19

  • Son of Elizabeth and Mark Barcani; Mark was an All-American linebacker and Hall of Famer at South Dakota School of Mines
