Biography

An incredibly consistent player who has the ability to take over a game with her desire and sheer passion to win the ball. Coach Salmon says she is a player that plays beyond her years and a captain that is a leader beyond her years.

2000 - Was easily UMBC’s top newcomer as she started all 18 contests and scored key goals in UMBC’s wins against St. Francis (PA) and Robert Morris... Also tallied against Lehigh on the last day of the season.

2001 - Started in all 19 games and scored three goals while tallying two assists... Her goal against Fairleigh Dickinson was the game-winner... Her accomplishments earned her NEC Second Team All Conference honors.

BACKGROUND - A Baltimore Sun Second Team All-Metro pick in 1999... Received her high schools' Outstanding Senior Athlete Award... A member of the National Honor Society... Also lettered in basketball and lacrosse... Daughter of Lou and Phyllis Karko... Brother Louie was a midfielder on UMBC's men's soccer team and now plays for the Baltimore Blast of the NPSL... Born on February 4, 1982... Majoring in Emergency Health Services.
