Peter Krech finished his second season with the UMBC women'ssoccer coaching staff, having been promoted to an assistant coachat the conclusion of the 2013 season. Krech spent the last twoseasons as a volunteer assistant on the staff.
Prior to UMBC, Krech spent three seasons as the assistantmen’s coach and recruiting coordinator at his alma mater, St.Mary’s College of Maryland. Krech’s responsibilitiesincluded organizing and working with film, being involved intraining plans and game strategies, as well as identifyingpotential student-athletes, coordinating their visits, paperworkand tours.
Krech gained head coaching experience with the Freestate SoccerAlliance, where he has been on staff since 2009. After a recentmerger, the club is now known as Maryland United FC, and Krech iscurrently the head coach for the Girls U12 Red and the Girls U18Red teams.
Krech also has experience with the Olympic Development Program(ODP), where he coached the ’95 boys’ team for twoseasons, leading them to the regional finals in 2011. Prior totaking over the boys’ team in 2011, he served as theassistant coach with the ’96 girls in 2010 and the ’95girls in 2009.
The Maryland native graduated from St. Mary’s in 2009 witha bachelor’s degree in sports coaching and management. Krechalso has a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National“B” License and a National Soccer Coaches Associationof America (NSCAA) Level I Goalkeeping Diploma.
