Biography

AS A SENIOR (2015-16): Missed the first five games of the season... Played in a total of 23 games her senior season...  Had double-digit points in nine games... Moved into the starting rotation at Loyola (Dec. 20) and finished with 10 points, five rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks... Registered 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal at Morgan State (Dec. 12)... Tallied a team-best 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting against Bucknell (Dec. 8)... Scored 12 points and recorded four steals in her season debut against American (Dec. 2)... Had her best game of the season with 25 points on 10-19 shooting in 38 minutes at Maine (Jan. 9)... Finished her two season at UMBC with 714 points.

AS A JUNIOR (2014-15): Earned America East All-Conference Second Team honors in her first campaign with the Retrievers… One of only two players to make 31 starts on the year, tying for seventh on the Retrievers’ single-season list… Registered 513 points to rank fourth in a single-season at UMBC, the third-most points ever for a Retriever junior… Her 60 steals tie for fourth all-time among UMBC juniors… Took the second-most field goals attempted in program history (510), and drained 198 field goals, tying for fifth on UMBC’s single-season list… Ranked second in the league in scoring (16.5 ppg) and third in scoring during conference play (15.6 ppg)… Led the team in rebounding (5.0 rpg)… Ranked fourth in the America East in steals per game (1.9)… Led the Retrievers in scoring in 21 of 31 games and recorded 26 double-digit scoring games, including nine 20-point efforts… Became the first Retriever player since Jan. 12, 2011 to record 30 points in a game when she registered 31 points versus UMass Lowell on Feb. 4… Recorded the Retrievers’ first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds versus Binghamton (Jan. 28)… Matched a season-best by hitting 12-of-19 shots from the field for 28 points versus Albany (Jan. 22)… Did a little bit of everything at Vermont (Jan. 17) recording 21 points, seven rebounds, five steals and two assists… Fell one rebound shy of a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds at UMass Lowell (Jan. 8)… Played all 40 minutes and finished with 22 points, including 17 in the first half, versus La Salle (Dec. 30)… Posted team-bests in points (18), rebounds (six) and steals (three) against Bucknell (Dec. 9)… Helped guide the Retrievers’ to a come-from-behind victory versus Columbia (Dec. 5) with a career-best 28 points… Tallied her third 20-point effort in four games with 20 points against Towson (Nov. 25) and chipped in five offensive rebounds… Registered the Retrievers’ first 20-point performance of the season with a game-high 21 points versus Loyola (Nov. 16)… Scored a team-best 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field and added six assists in her UMBC debut against Eastern (Nov. 14)… Named the team’s Co-Most Valuable Athlete at the Grittys.

PRIOR TO UMBC: Played two seasons at Harford Community College... A Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Junior/Community College Player of the Year finalist as a sophomore... Led the nation in scoring (28.1 ppg) in 2013-14 en route to becoming the MD JUCO all-time leader in points (1,497) and steals (246)... Earned All-America First Team honors from the WBCA... Added 8.8 rebounds, 4.1 steals and 3.7 assists last season to earn her second straight ALL-MD JUCO First Team recognition... Helped her team to the NJCAA Division I District Tournament semifinals... Shot 53.9 percent from the field as a freshman and ranked third in the nation with 22.5 points per game... Scored double-figures in all 29 games as a rookie and posted seven double-doubles and two triple-doubles.

HIGH SCHOOL: A member of the Springbrook High School women's basketball team... Named to the All-Gazette First Team... An All-Washington Post Honorable Mention... Two-time team MVP... Finished as a 1,000-point scorer.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Carl and Sheree Evans Garner... Sister to CJ Garner... Majoring in media and communication studies.
