Biography

2010: Played in 10 games as a reserve forward/attacking midfielder… Debuted in UMBC’s opener vs. VMI and contributed an assist on Pete Caringi’s first collegiate goal late in the first half… Played a season-high 41 minutes at Mount St. Mary’s on Sept. 18.

 

Collegiate: Competed for two years at CCBC-Essex in 2007 and 2008… Helped the Knights reach the junior college national championships in both seasons… Matriculated at UMBC during the 2009-10 academic year, practiced with the team, but did not compete.

 

Background: Majoring in political science… Started on the varsity soccer squad at Kenwood in all four years and earned captaincy as a junior and a senior… Named to Baltimore County All-Division squad and earned all-academic honors in both soccer and track & field for the Bluebirds… Participated in the Baltimore County Championships in the 400 meters… Born in Nigeria and came to the United States in September of 2001...Cites his biggest sports thrill as the Ravens winning the Super Bowl… Lists favorite professional team as Chelsea FC and favorite movie as Coming to America…  Son of Hannah and Nelson Onwuka… Born Nov. 11, 1989.
