Accolades: (2012) Earned UMBC’s President’s List honors in the fall semester… (2013): Repeated 4.00 grade-point average to earn President’s List recognition for both the spring and fall semesters... Selected to America East Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll (2014) Maintained perfect 4.00 grade-point average for fourth consecutive (spring) semester at UMBC... Presented the inaugural America East Elite 18 Award, recognizing the student-athlete in the championship match for his high academic and athletic acheivements... Subsequently, earned the NCAA Elite 89 Award as the top student-athlete at the College Cup... Selected to the AE All-Academic Team and named the conference's Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete.   

2016: Played and started in all 16 games during his senior season for the Retrievers… Recorded 54 saves with an save percentage average of .659… Gave up 28 goals for a goals against average of 1.57… Ended the season with a record of 5 wins, 7 losses, 3 ties, and 2 shutouts… America East All-Conference Second Team… America East All-Academic Team… America East Presidental Scholar-Athlete… America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2015: Played and started in 19 of 20 games for the Retrievers in the net... Gave up 17 goals for a 0.86 goals against average, making 73 saves, good for a .811 saves percentage... Finished the year with a 11-5-3 record, recording eight shutouts on the year... Had a season best seven saves in three games (New Hampshire, at UMass Lowell, Stony Brook)... Had a stretch of four straight shutouts at the end of the year from October 27 to Nov. 7... Also led the America East in shutouts, goals against average and save percentage... Earned America East All-Conference Second Team and All-Academic Team honors... Named America East Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete... CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American.

2014: Posted the lowest goals against average (0.54) in school history for goalkeepers that played at least 1,000 minutes... His 11 victories is tied for the fifth most in a single season and the seven shutouts is knotted for sixth in school history... Finished sixth in the nation in goals against average and eighth in save percentage (84.2)... Posted first career shutout in first career start in a huge win against No. 23 Delaware... Stopped penalty kick vs. UML... Dropped only two of 16 decisions (11-2-3)... Recorded 400 minutes of scoreless soccer in first four rounds of NCAA Tournament... Credited with one stop in each of the penalty shoot-outs as UMBC advanced past Wake Forest and Creighton.  

2013: Trained exceedingly well during the spring as Phil Saunders nursed an injury, but the incumbent played all 1,916 minutes during the fall campaign. 

2012: Earned a letter, but did not compete in any regular season or post-season matches.

Background: Majoring in financial economics… Capped his prep career in outstanding fashion, earning Lancaster-Lebanon League Section I First Team honors… Made 82 saves, recorded 18 shutouts and goals against average of .303… Led his squad to the L-L and District III finals and the PIAA state quarterfinals… In his junior season, the Black Knights captured the PIAA 3A state title… The honor roll student is the starting goalkeeper for the Pennsylvania Classics Academy team… Older brother Joey competed in soccer for four seasons at Mercer (Ga) University… Also considered Lafayette, Rider and St. Joseph’s… Selected UMBC because it “offers a quality education and has an established soccer program”… Lists favorite professional team as Arsenal… Son of Nancy and Frank Heavner… Born Nov. 12, 1993.
