Accolades: Named to 2020 College Crosse All-Freshman Honorable Mention Team.
2022:
- Competed in all 13 games and started the last six on close defense
- Garnered 14 of 18 ground balls in his starts, including a career-tying four versus Stony Brook on April 23
- Caused a career-best three turnovers in UMBC’s 16-7 win over UAlbany on April 9
- Scored his first three collegiate goals during the campaign, netting on his lone attempts of the year at Towson, UMass Lowell and versus NJIT
- Only committed one foul on the season, a technical violation at Richmond on March 20
2021:
- Started 10 of 11 games, reprising his role on close defense
- Recorded 16 ground balls and three caused turnovers
- His top effort statistically was a collecting three ground balls and causing a miscue in the overtime win at Stony Brook on April 24
- Only committed one turnover and stayed out of the penalty box in 10 of 11 contests
2020:
- Started all five contests on close defense for the Retrievers
- Key contributor to sterling defensive effort in the 9-4 win at Mount St. Mary’s
- Caused a pair of Mount miscues and corralled four ground balls
- Also forced two turnovers in the 19-13 victory over High Point.
Background: A 2019 Washington Post All-Metro honorable mention selection… The 2019 District of Columbia Bob Scott Award winner, recognizing a boys’ player that goes “above and beyond: in service to his/her team, school, and community… A four-time All-MAC player and two-time Defensive Player of the Year… Captained the Lions in 2018 and 2019… Led the team to an undefeated league season and tournament title as a senior… Also earned letters in soccer and basketball… Considering a major in biological sciences and interested in a career as a veterinarian… Considered other schools but “no one valued the importance of education more than UMBC”… Lists favorite book as Between the World and Me… Served as a counselor at Camp PALS in Philadelphia and Georgetown, a week-long camp for young adolescents with down-syndrome… Has one older sister, Youme… Son of Tracey and Tely Diallo.
