Biography

2017: Made a position change to short-stick defensive midfield and competed in 13 of 14 contests… Collected five ground balls… Credited with a ground ball and a caused turnover at Hartford on April 22… Picked up his second career assist in UMBC’s 10-7 victory over Vermont on April 29. 

 

 

2016: Saw action in all 14 games, with one start, as a long-stick defensive middie and close defenseman… Collected 17 ground balls and forced six miscues… Earned his first collegiate start on the back line versus Johns Hopkins on March 30… Three days later, he recorded season-bests with four ground balls and two caused turnovers in the 13-8 win at Lafayette…  Also posted his first collegiate point, an assist, versus the Leopards.

 

Background: A three-year varsity standout at the long-stick midfield position for the Huskers… Capped off his career with a 2014 New York Class B state championship…Named All-Section during his junior and senior years and was a two-sport athlete, playing varsity soccer for two years…   Attended Trinity Pawling (N.Y.) School for a post-graduate year and was named First Team All-Western New England West I Honorable Mention selection… Recorded five ground balls and five caused turnovers in a 2013 victory over nationally-ranked Ridgefield…  Considering a major in political science… Lists The Temptations as his favorite musical artist and the New York Jets as his favorite professional sports team… Enjoys singing… Has one older sister, Ana Jean, and an older brother, Sam, who both competed in track and field in high school… Son of Mary and Sal Rodriguez.
