2021:

  • Came on strong down the stretch and ended up leading the Retrievers with 24 goals
  • Finished in the nation’s top 50 (tied 48th) for goals per game (2.18)
  • Led the team in shots (84) and shots on goal (44) and tied for team lead with four man-up tallies
  • Started all 11 games at first midfield
  • Recorded multiple-goal games seven times and four hat-tricks
  • Posted first three-goal game in the opening overtime win vs. Mt. St. Mary’s
  • Tallied the game-winner with 7:12 remaining in UMBC’s 7-6 triumph over Binghamton on March 27
  • Scored 13 goals in the final three games of the season
  • Hit the nets once per quarter in the 14-13 overtime win at Stony Brook on April 24
  • Set a career mark with a five-point effort (4-1-5) in the regular season finale at NJIT
  • Tied that personal record and recorded a career high five-goals in the America East semi-final game versus UAlbany
  • Knotted the game at 12-all with an unassisted tally as 6:02 remained, beating the Great Dane netminder with his fifth shot on goal of the contest

2020: 

  • Made a successful transition from face-off specialist to offensive midfielder
  • Posted a break-out game in UMBC’s first win of the season
  • Scored four unassisted goals to pace the Retrievers’ 9-4 triumph in Emmitsburg
  • Equaled that point total with a 3-goal, 1-assist effort in the finale versus High Point.

 

2019:

  • Led the Retrievers in face-offs won (92) and ground balls (49)
  • Scored a pair of goals and added two assists
  • Did not play in the opener at Navy, then won 14-of-20 draws and garnered six ground balls four days later at Richmond
  • Named America East Conference Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week and to USILA Team of the Week after a dominant effort versus Lafayette on March 30
  • Won 20 of 23 face-offs in the 19-8 victory… Captured 19 of his first 20 draws attempted late into the fourth quarter and scored his first career goal
  • Became first UMBC player to win 20 face-offs in a game since Phil Poe garnered a program-record 28 versus Vermont in April of 2014
  • Also collected 16 ground balls, the most by a Retriever since Poe scooped up 20 in the same game
  • Won eight draws and scored versus Binghamton the following week
  • Came up big with a 9-of-16 effort on draws, six ground balls and an assist in helping UMBC capture the must-win season finale
  • Captured 6-of-9 fourth quarter draws, aiding a UMBC rally in the 14-13 title game victory over Vermont
  • Came away with the game’s most critical face-off, the ensuing draw with 61 seconds left after UMBC’s Trevor Patschorke scored the game-winning goal.

 

Background: Outstanding three-sport athlete, earning top honors in football and ice hockey in addition to lacrosse…A 2018 Maryland State Lacrosse Coaches’ Association All-State First Team selection… Led the Buccaneers to the state semi-finals… Scored six goals in Kent Island’s first-ever victory over Broadneck in his senior campaign…A First Team All-State selection on the ice, along with capturing all-conference honors on the gridiron…An honor roll student throughout his high school tenure… Considering a major in business tech administration and would like to start his own business… Lists favorite professional team as the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and favorite book as Native Son… Has two brothers, D.J. and Jordan – older brother D.J. competes in lacrosse at York (Pa.)
