Biography

2017: Long-stick defensive midfielder led UMBC in ground balls for the second consecutive season… Posted 51 GB’s and reached the 100 mark in his tenure… Also recorded 18 caused turnovers to lead the Retrievers… Finished fourth in America East and 58th nationally in ground balls per game (3.64) and third/45th in caused turnovers (1.29) per contest… Opened the campaign by scooping up a career-high seven ground balls at defending national champion UNC, a mark which tied for team-high honors for the season… Continued an outstanding February by scoring his second career goal and adding four ground balls and three CT’s at Richmond on Feb. 18… Gathered six GB’s in narrow loss to eventual national semi-finalist Towson on March 4… Tied season-high with three caused turnovers as UMBC allowed only four goals in 6-4 win at Marist on March 11… Recorded an assist at Stony Brook (March 18)… Tied career mark with seven ground balls at Hartford (April 22) and added six GB’s a week later versus Vermont.

 

2016: Competed in 12 games, missing two in April due to injury… The versatile defender led the Retrievers with 41 ground balls and finished second with 17 caused turnovers… Caused three turnovers in the opener vs. Richmond… Produced four ground balls and three caused miscues versus Stony Brook on March 26… Earned a start on close defense versus Johns Hopkins and collected a season-high six ground balls… Also scored his first collegiate goal in the contest… Tied his season-best with six ground balls versus Vermont on April 16.

 

2015: Competed in all 13 games as a LSDM... Also saw extensive action on man-down unit… Recorded a pair of ground balls in the March 27 victory over Lafayette… Amassed eight ground balls and two caused turnovers in his initial campaign. 

 

Background: Named Player of the Year in Anne Arundel County… Earned First Team All-County, All-Metro, and to the Baltimore Sun’s Second Team…Part of a squad which competed in four state championships and earned a pair of them…Played football and ice hockey… Earned academic honor roll all four years of high school…Suffered broken bones during sophomore and junior years, but came back to play during the season…Lists favorite sports team as Green Bay Packers and favorite musical artists as Billy Currington and Biggie Smalls…Has three brothers and is the son of Kerry and George O’Hara.
