2022:

  • Saw action in seven contests, winning 8-of-17 face-offs
  • Attempted a season-high seven face-offs versus NJIT on April 29 and captured four

2021:

  • Finished tied for fifth in America East in face-off winning percentage (46.7) and tenth in ground balls per game (3.4)
  • Tied for the UMBC team lead with 35 ground balls
  • Became the 16th Retriever in school history to record 100 or more face-off wins (101) in a single season
  • Contributed a pair of assists, the first two of his career
  • Won the opening overtime face-off in all three UMBC games that ended in the first extra period
  • His win of the OT draw in the opener versus Mt. St. Mary’s was converted into the game-winner by Mason Edwards just six seconds into extra time
  • Controlled a season-high 17 face-offs (of 30) in UMBC’s 4OT victory over Stony Brook on March 6
  • Captured four-of-five draws in the fourth quarter and overtime in the Retrievers’ 14-13 extra-time victory at Stony Brook on April 24

2020:

  • Warmed to the task as the Retrievers’ primary face-off specialist in his initial campaign
  • Keyed the wins over Sacred Heart and Towson, by winning 32 of 41 (78.0 percent) of his draws
  • Earned America East Rookie of the Week honors after capturing 19-of-23 and garnering a team season-best 10 ground balls in the 13-6 win over Sacred Heart
  • Also scored his first collegiate goal in the game
  • Completed the campaign ranked as the No. 24 face-off specialist in the nation... Won 58.8 percent of his draws taken.

Background: A highly-decorated three-sport student-athlete at Blessed Trinity Catholic…Earned three All-State citations in lacrosse for the Titans… Led the team to the 2018 GHSA 1-4A state championship… Also captured a pair of football state titles… Made 11 tackles and picked off a pass in the title game versus Cartersville… Also lettered in wrestling… Considering a major in financial economics… Lists favorite musical artist at Florida Georgia Line and favorite book as To Kill a Mockingbird… Has a younger sister, Michaela… Son of Peggy and Rob Poma.
