Biography

2018-19: After a year lay-off, competed in a reserve role in the first eight contests, snaring 5 caroms in 9:29 vs. Shenandoah... Hit both FG attempts in 4-point effort at NKU... Amassed career-high 12 caroms in just 14:22 of playing time vs. Hood... Seven boards were off offensive glass and scored season-best 7 points... Made his first start since Jan. 6, 2016 (50 consecutive appearances off the bench) vs. Binghamton on Jan. 16...Produced an outstanding game at Vermont, scoring career high 9 pts and rejecting season-high four shots, tying his career best effort...  Suffered an ankle injury vs. Hartford on Feb. 6 and did not dress at Maine... Returned vs. Binghamton and hit both field goal attempts (4 pts./4 rebs.) in 15 minutes of action... Started for first time in eight games in AE Quarterfinals vs. UAlbany and hit all 3 field goal attempts - hit all five field goal attempts in the tournament... UMBC went 7-2 in his starts... Led UMBC with 16 rejections... Completed his degree requirements in the spring and ended his intercollegiate playing career.       

 

2017-18: Did not dress due to injury suffered in the pre-season… Underwent successful season-ending ankle surgery in late December and was granted a medical red-shirt season... Brother Jack joined him at UMBC on the squad for the fall 2018 semester.

 

2016-17: Came on strong during the second half of the season, playing double-figure minutes in 11 of the final 16 games… Made season debut versus Delaware State on Nov. 16 and contributed a crowd-pleasing follow slam in the closing minutes... Pressed into key second-half service at Hartford on Jan. 11 and pulled down three caroms in four minutes... Played season-high 21 minutes off the bench at UMass Lowell and recorded six rebounds and two steals...   Rejected four shots in 16 minutes vs. UNH on Jan. 28... Hauled down a team-leading seven caroms and blocked four shots at Albany on Feb. 15... Hit all three field goal attempts and grabbed a career-high, team-best eight rebounds in America east playoff setback at UNH on March 1... Scored a season-best six points in the contest… Committed only one turnover in 151 minutes of America East play… Finished third in league games with 1.1 blocked shots per outing.

 

2015-16: Blocked a team-high two shots in collegiate debut in the lid-lifter at Wake Forest… Hit 4-of-7 shots at Maui Jim Maui Invitational Regional Games and recorded first collegiate dunk vs. Cal Poly…Made first collegiate start at Bowling Green on Dec. 2 and UMBC went 3-6 in his starts.. Garnered season-bests of 8 points/6 rebounds/28 minutes in AE opener at Albany on Jan. 6… Suffered late-game injury and did not dress in the next two games… Led UMBC in blocked shots and finished tenth in America East with 0.6 per game. 

 

Background: Selected as the team captain and eventually earned squad’s Most Valuable Player award in JFCA’s inaugural season (2014-15)… Squad recovered from a 2-7 start to finish the year at 23-8 against a national schedule… The team mounted a 21-game winning streak… His year was highlighted by a triple-double (21 pts., 18 rebs., 11 blocks) vs. New Faith Christian in December and a tournament Most Valuable Player honor at the Furtah Prep Holiday Tournament… Graduated JFCA with academic honors… Set school record for the shot put as a sophomore at Wakefield-Frisco… One of four siblings… Older sister Riley is a member of the track & field squad at Troy (Ala.) University… Younger brother Jack competed with him on the basketball squad at JFCA in 2014-15… Parents both participated in athletics at the collegiate level- mother Mary competed as a sprinter at Ohio University, while father, Mike, was a goalkeeper for the ice hockey squad at U.S. International University... An avid read whose favorite book is The Litigators by John Grisham… Lists favorite professional team as the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs.
