2011-12:  Saw action in 17 contests, including 10 America East games in his initial collegiate campaign… Recorded UMBC’s first dunk of the year in a six-minute stint in the opener vs. Penn... Hit his first 3-point field goal at Rutgers on Nov. 28... Played a season-high 17 minutes at Indiana... Scored a season-high four points at Niagara on Dec. 28.

 
 
 

Background: Led his team to a 22-4 record and the school’s first Division title in 42 years  as a senior at Point Pleasant Beach…  Averaged 18.1 points, 10.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game… Named First Team All-League and All-Shore Conference and earned a slot on the New Jersey Group 1 All-State squad. … Competed at Ramsey HS as a junior, earning First Team All-League honors as he led the league with 18.8 points and 11.8 caroms per game…  Averaged 11.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game at Worcester Academy in 2010-11… His sister, Tayler, played four years of Division I basketball at George Mason and Colgate and his father, Richard, played collegiately at Fairfield University,  for Frank McGuire at the University of South Carolina and for Bob Hurley at St. Anthony’s at the prep level… Earned three letters in soccer… An honor roll student in all four years of high school… Interested in a career in law enforcement…  Lists favorite professional team as the Miami Heat… Son of Karyn and Richard Wejnert… Born Nov. 16, 1991.
