Biography
BACKGROUND: Comes to UMBC after two seasons at America East rival UAlbany as well as three seasons at Drexel...Earned an MBA from UAlbany and graduated from Drexel with a communication degree in just three years.
2022-23 (UMBC): Played in all 32 games and tied his career-high with 24 starts...Made a career-high 106 field goals while shooting .467 from the floor overall...Also recorded career-high's in rebounds (143), assists (34), blocks (15), steals (18) and points (268)...Notched a season-high 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting at UMass Lowell...Tied a career-high with nine caroms at Georgetown and NJIT...Also tied his career-best with four rejections at NJIT.Â
2021-22 (UALBANY): Played in all 31 games (24 starts) for the Great Danes, averaging 6.8 ppg and 3.8 rpg in 21.4 minutes per game…scored a season-high 21 points against Binghamton (2/16/22) on 8-of-11 shooting and converted all five attempts from the line…produced 17 points on 6-9 shooting against UMBC (2/2/22) and also came up with a season-high three steals…Grabbed a season-high eight boards versus Maine (2/9/22).
2020-21 (UALBANY): Started 11 of the 14 games that he appeared in…averaged 10.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game…made 47-of-84 field goal attempts for a 56 percent clip…also splashed 9-of-19 attempts from long-distance (47 percent)…converted 84 percent of his free throw attempts as he went 37-of-44 from the stripe…poured in a season-high 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting against NJIT (2/27) and swished all four of his treys…pulled down a season-high nine caroms against NJIT (1/16) and also contributed 12 points.
2019-20 (DREXEL): Appeared in just five contests and averaged 11.4 minutes per game…played a season-high 18 minutes versus Rutgers (11/13) and scored six points…named to the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
2018-19 (DREXEL): One of Drexel’s first players off the bench…played in 30 games and tied for second on the team in 3-pointers made with 23…shot better than 41 percent from long range…averaged 4.1 points per game and shot .828 from the free-throw line (24-for-29)… poured in a career-best 16 points against Towson on 7-for-9 shooting…sank four 3-pointers in the game…scored in double figures on three occasions…named to the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
2017-18 (DREXEL): Played in 23 games in his first season and started on 10 occasions…averaged 3.3 points and 2.1 rebounds…shot 36 percent from long range, draining 14 three-pointers, and 43 percent overall…finished his first season 13-for-16 (.813) from the line…named the CAA Rookie of the Week on Nov. 20 after averaging 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in four games…scored 11 points, went 3-for-3 from deep and had seven rebounds against Mercer…followed that with 10 points and a career-high eight rebounds vs. Drake in 43 minutes of play…named to the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played his high school ball at Mt. St. Joseph and Hammond High School, where he earned All-County honors…Recipient of Al Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament (ACIT) most Articulate Player. Following high school, Jarvis attended Mt. Zion Preparatory School in Baltimore, MD.
PERSONAL: The son of Brenda Doles and Jarvis Doles …Plays piano, studied acting…His favorite pro team is the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, and his favorite musical artist is Future.
